His dad had kicked him out a few weeks ago and he supposed he'd just been wandering around for a bit, looking for a home. He needs one right now, that's for sure. The young man lets green eyes observe the territory he's in. A castle stands tall but crumbling in the distance. Trees rise tall around him, but a valley stretches out over the horizon, past the end of the forest. It's quite a nice place, Icarus thinks to himself, allowing an impressed smile to flit across his features.
"Yes, hello. I'm Icarus. I'd like to join... this place. But, I don't exactly know how," he explains. Of course, as much as he hates the fact, there are always things he doesn't know. The wolfdog draws his cloak around him to protect him from the chilling winds buffeting his fur, causing shivers to run down his spine. Hopefully somebody would come soon, or else he might just die out here.

He'd never seen a canine with quite that... appearance, before, and it was incredibly startling. It reminded the male of a movie he'd seen before, or something. He couldn't remember which movie, but that didn't matter. The youth's ears perked to attention when Daresso started explaining how to join, though, and he nodded silently. It seemed simple enough, and he guessed he'd technically already done it. Oh, and this place was called Westeros? Cool. It sounded pretty fancy- something Icarus liked.
"Pleasure t' meet you," the wolfdog commented after hearing this guy's name. If he was honest, he was still pretty intimidated by the guy's appearance, but that could change. He definitely seemed nice enough. As for whether he was thirsty or not, well... hm. He supposed so. He hadn't noticed the nagging feeling before, so it was probably best that Daresso mentioned it.
"Yeah, water would be nice, thanks. Is there anything else you could tell me about Westeros, by the way? I mean- it sounds cool, but I guess I just don't know what I'm getting into all that much."

He didn't care much about the Greyjoys, mostly because he hadn't been around to see them. He'd only been in Westeros for a very short time, having been kicked out of his father's home at age nineteen, and coming here only a few months after. He folded his dark, rough hands together, intertwining at the fingers. He held no political opinion on... well, really anything in Westeros so far.
But, did that mean he wasn't happy for Jaehaerys? Of course not! He felt a sense of joy spread through his body, and had dressed his best for the occasion. "Congratulations, your grace." Coronation was a big deal- this man now held the iron throne, after all. But that wasn't his main concern.
Actually, he was mostly here for the food. He drifted over to Daresso, one of the only people he knew at this celebration, and eyed the table with dozens of delicacies laid on top. He hoped that the other would catch his drift, since Icarus didn't want to seem rude if anyone overheard.

He'd never thought much about his namesake before, but his parents had been avid followers of Ancient Greek religion. He'd grown up on it himself, and sure they'd told him the story of Icarus, but he'd just... forgotten it. It had been a bit too scary at the time, considering he was only a puppy, and his namesake had, well, died in the story, but surely that couldn't mean he would die too!
As for his attire, it was another gift from his parents. He wasn't exactly sure if laurels were appropriate for a Greek upbringing, since he thought that they were more of a roman item than anything, but Icarus didn't really care. They looked cool.
"Thanks, man. I 'ppreciate it," he commented after receiving the compliment. North seemed like a good guy, but that was brownie points. Icarus gave a bit of a lopsided grin when the other stated that he was all good. Well, that was nice. The canine was hoping that'd be the case, after all. People being sad and mopey was a real downer of a time.
